The Cytologist role offers a generous sign-on bonus paid out up front! New grads and those with less than one-year experience are eligible to receive a $12,000 bonus. Experienced Cytologists are eligible to receive a $15,000 bonus!
Purpose:
Make the final interpretation on the majority of negative Pap tests and render a diagnosis for consideration by the Pathologist on all other cell samples.
Responsibilities:
+ Assist with special projects and conferences.
+ Perform all responsibilities according to the philosophy of the UPMC Health System such that the needs of our customers are fulfilled.
+ Oversee and assist with problem solving of staining and cytopreparatory procedures; perform cytopreparation, staining and clerical functions as necessary.
