Corrections Officer

Description:

• Corrections officers for the Miami County Sheriff’s Office are responsible for the intake and release and daily observation of inmates.  The staff rotates work responsibilities between our two facilities.


• The “Full-Service Jail”, a linear, bar-style jail located in downtown Troy houses higher-classified inmates, while the “Minimum Security Facility”, an open, pod-style jail located on N.

CR 25A north of the fairgrounds houses the lower-classified, mainly non-violent inmates.  We currently operate on 12-hour shifts from 7a-7p and 7p-7a which offers correction officers every other weekend off and the ability to work 7 days in a 14-day period.  Corrections officers’ main responsibility is the care, custody, and control of all inmates housed in our facilities.   Deputies can be assigned to:
