Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to support a non-profit organization in Washington, District of Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis. This role will take ownership of the close process by validating core balance sheet activity and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on knowledge of non-profit accounting practices, and the ability to prepare complete financial statements with related disclosures.

Responsibilities:
• Review and reconcile bank activity to confirm cash balances are complete, accurate, and properly recorded.
• Analyze prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, and other key balance sheet accounts to ensure correct period-end reporting.
• Prepare and finalize trial balance support needed for the month-end and year-end close processes.
