Conservation Field Technician - Endangered Dotterel Research

The New Zealand Government is seeking a hands-on conservation specialist for a short-term role on Rakiura Stewart Island, from 21 September 2026 to 15 January 2027. You will carry out field research on the Critically Endangered Pukunui/Southern New Zealand Dotterel during the breeding season.

Tasks include extensive field surveys, nest monitoring, data collection and analysis, and leading field trips in remote backcountry locations.
