Position Overview

Cloud Engineer I is a mid-level engineering role (5+ years experience) focused on improving the reliability, security, and operational maturity of Zones’ enterprise cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms. This role sits within our Enterprise Compute & Storage Services (ECSS) team and is designed for an engineer with solid hands‑on Azure experience who wants to actively raise the bar on automation, monitoring, backup, alerting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across production environments.

This is a builder and improver role—not a ticket‑only or passive operations position. You will work directly on production Azure platforms, automate repetitive operational work, improve observability and alert quality, and strengthen recovery readiness. You’ll partner closely with senior ECSS engineers and adjacent Digital IT teams while helping modernize day‑to‑day operations through cloud‑first practices.
