Clinical Nurse Specialist: Infection Prevention and Control
Position Type: Permanent, part‑time (0.8 FTE) within the Quality & Risk team.
Responsibilities
- Stewardship of Braemar’s IPC Programme, regularly reviewing to ensure currency.
- Act as nursing resource to provide expert advice and education to staff, patients and whānau.
- Consult with clinical staff to implement and evaluate infection prevention measures for staff and patients with infectious diseases.
- Contribute to implementation of systems that collect, analyse and recommend improvements to IPC practices across departments.
- Engage organisationally to enhance IPC practices and capacity.
- Ensure new employees receive screening and orientation specific to infection prevention.
- Support the business to identify and address IPC issues promptly.
- Complete daily MDRO surveillance of booked admissions.
