Child & Youth Counsellor, Mental Health – Permanent Casual

Position Summary

The Child and Youth Counsellor will be a member of the multidisciplinary team that provides crisis intervention and assessments for children and adolescents with complex and severe mental health issues across the MH PSU.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for program patients and families.
• Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Develop programming and activities for the inpatient unit and day treatment programs.
• Offer support and counselling to individual patients and their families.
• Provide appropriate learning experiences for the patient and family.
• Mentor students and new staff.

Qualifications

• Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
• Graduate of a three‑year community college program in Child and Youth Counselling (Essential)
