Carpenter

Summary Position functions as a Carpenter for the Eastern Kansas Health Care System, Facilities Management Service, and performs a full range of carpentry and related maintenance duties, placing a high emphasis on general carpentry and interior renovations to maintain a safe and functional environment. Responsibilities Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Constructs, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, floors, ceilings, and cabinetry. Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements. Operates woodworking machines and uses hand tools to cut, shape, and form wood, plastic, and other materials. Installs frameworks, partitions, doors, and windows. Prepares and applies coating materials on wood, metal, concrete, synthetic, and other surfaces utilizing standard and special methods of the painting trade.
