A Functional Prosthetist provides functional upper limb prosthetic fitting service as an adjunct to the specialty of hand and reconstructive microsurgery. He/ she is to provide pre‑and post‑prosthetic counselling, evaluate patient and recommend correct prosthesis; to fabricate and produce fit high‑quality prostheses for upper limb amputations and follow‑up, as well as to expand prosthetic service by providing functional prosthesis for varying levels of hand amputations. He /she is to work alongside with our current aesthetic prosthetist to enable the delivery of comprehensive prosthetic solutions that optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
