Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable contractor seeking a SCADA Engineer to join their Control Systems team in Johannesburg.
Responsibilities
- Developing specifications and concept designs for SCADA components and system architecture.
- Reviewing and integrating third-party SCADA systems with overall plant control systems.
- Configuring Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and ensuring compliance with utility grid codes.
- Proficiency in PLC / HMI programming (TIA Portal EcoStruxure Codesys).
- Proven experience in PPC configuration and commissioning (Siemens Schneider DEIF etc.).
- Solid understanding of Modbus TCP / IP IECDNP3 OPC UA.
- Familiar with grid-tied logic and system-level control schematics.
- Willingness to travel for site work and system commissioning.
- Experience with solar PV or renewable projects; experience in hybrid or BESS systems is a plus.
