Position Summary:
The role of the radiation therapist at New York Proton Center is to provide direct patient care utilizing proton radiation therapy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures accurate and precise treatment delivery and date capture.Demonstrates sound clinical judgement in daily activities involving treatment delivery and simulation procedures.Reviews all set-up instructions, radiation prescriptions, consents, treatment plan, and any other documentation related to treatment delivery.Explains treatment process to the patient in a clear and concise manner that promotes understanding.Answers any questions that the patient may have which is within the scope of practice of the radiation therapist.
