Python Platform Engineer - AI / Kubernetes

12-month contract | £450-£550/day | Outside IR35 | Edinburgh (Hybrid)

We're working with a major public sector client delivering a next-gen AI platform to transform how high-volume documents are processed.

This is a hands-on Python engineering role focused on building and running the platform that powers AI workloads not developing models.

What you'll be doing

Building production-grade Python services and shared libraries

Developing workflow pipelines for document processing (ingestion → extraction → output)

Running workloads in Kubernetes (AKS) with scalable, reliable design

Owning infrastructure (Terraform) and deployment (CI/CD, GitOps)

Implementing monitoring, alerting, and automation to keep systems running smoothly

Integrating with enterprise systems (databases, messaging, document stores)
