The primary purpose of the Mental Health Specialist III position is to serve as a team member in providing and maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu. This position provides support and assistance to an interdisciplinary team. Actively participates in group and treatment-related activities and crisis interventions.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

Provides direct care responsibilities for consumers/patients as assigned.

Engages consumer/patient in appropriate treatment intervention based on service plan and supervisory directions.

Interacts and communicates with consumer/patient in therapeutic manner.

Assists with consumer admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
