- Performs routine test procedures, automated or manual, in the laboratory with little direct supervision.
- Assists in training of new personnel.
- Maintains a clean and well‑organised work area.
- Maintains proper inventory level of all supplies and reports any deficiency to the appropriate section manager or the designate.
- Reviews all daily QC results and discusses any problems with the appropriate section manager or the designate.
- Checks the performance of all instruments in the laboratory and reports any which is not functioning properly.
- Supports flexible staffing requirements in the department and participates in shift duties.
- Complies with all regulatory guidelines, participating in CAP proficiency testing, National proficiency testing and inter‑hospital QA programs.
- Participates in a routine maintenance program for instruments and in ongoing CME and professional development programs.
