A University based in Surrey has sought our assistance in finding an Interim Head of PR to join their integrated Marketing & Communications function. The position is for an initial 6 months with the idea of moving to permanency. For the right candidate they would be willing to pay up to £50K pro rata and are also considering £300/day Ltd as a day rate.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the university's media relations activity; promoting research, teaching excellence and student experience and build relationships with journalists
  • Strategise and deliver creative communications campaigns across a variety of channels
  • Lead the university community engagement programme, working collaboratively with community leaders and elected representatives
  • Create an effective reactive media response to deal with crisis and other issues
  • Manage and motivate the PR team
