INTAKE COUNSELOR (DEGREED)- Overnight

Responsible for being able to perform all aspects of the hospital’s assessment and referral process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals, when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health and/or chemical dependency status; making patient safety and level of care recommendations to the physicians(s); identifying insurance benefits, pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff and documenting all necessary information.
