Responsibilities
- Determine HVAC system type to be used and provide input as needed during basic design phase.
- Design and size ductwork for living quarters and machinery space, cold room system and chilled water piping system.
- Review all HVAC equipment, vendor’s proposals for technical accuracy and constructability. Understand sizing of equipment and prepare equipment specification.
- Prepare working drawings, establishing design criteria standards specification and HVAC construction guideline drawings.
- Check submittals and prepare the installation or construction drawings when needed.
- Perform site visits to solve the engineering problems when required to determine existing conditions or verify new construction.
- Determine HVAC load calculations and select equipment.
