Endoscopy Technician I

The Endoscopy Technician functions under the direct supervision of the team leader and the Registered Nurse with professional direction from the appropriate physician. Works in partnership with the health care team, patient/family. Assists with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care to accomplish positive patient outcomes and organizational goals. Provision of care focuses on assisting physician and registered nurse while performing endoscopic procedure, cleaning and maintaining equipment, stocking equipment and supplies. Responsibilities:•Explains procedures and expected sensations to the patient. Provides instruction to ensure patient cooperation and to minimize discomfort. Provides physical and emotional support to the patient during procedures. •Assists physicians with endoscopic procedures.
