Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist - Echo Lab

The Echo Lab uses ultrasound systems manufactured by different vendors. It is expected that the Ultrasound Technologist (UT) becomes proficient in its use, maintains level of proficiency of all echocardiography equipment and tools used. All echoes performed take place in acute care and outpatient care settings. This position requires certification as an RDCS/RCS. The UT is also responsible for maintaining a high standard of medical ethics at all times. The UT is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding and knowledge of the field, understanding pathophysiology, learning new procedures as they evolve, and follow established examination standards that adhere to the policies and procedures of UCDH and IAC. Clinical instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and/or Cardiac Fellows are expected and required per the Echo Lab Supervisors discretion.
