Job Description

Special Requirements:

• Must pass or be a graduate of the Rhode Island Municipal Police Training Academy, Rhode Island State Police Academy, Providence Police Academy, or Warwick Police Academy.

• Must be eligible for licensing as a Special Police Office by the Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police.

•Those candidates who are required to attend the RI Municipal Police Training Academy must pass all recruitment training courses, including Emergency Water Safety.

• Pass psychological and physical exam.

• Be 21 years of age or older

• Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle

• Must be a US citizen

• Have high school diploma or GED, higher education a plus

• Must have no felony convictions

• Ability to provide high level of customer service

• Ability to treat others with dignity and respect regardless of the situation
