The Aircraft Mechanic I (Wheel & Tire) is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft.Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's.Operates all associated ground support equipment and uses hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair.Researches technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment.Disassemble /Reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wheel & tire assemblies.Monitors bench and shop stocks and orders material and supplies as ...
