Camp Counselor - Yaphank, NY

Supervise campers and ensure their safety. Assist with day-to-day operations of the Suffolk County Farm and Education Center Camp programs. Directly interact with camper’s parents and guardians. Assist camp educators with animal science, environmental science, and agriculture programs. Maintain camp facilities. Promote the development of a community-oriented camp culture that emphasizes empathy, continuous improvement, and high performance.


Required Qualifications:

+ Must be at least 16 years old and have attended or graduated from high school or equivalent.

+ Ability to comply with Suffolk County Department of Health requirements.

+ Ability to understand and carry out educational program tasks and objectives.

+ Ability to work outdoors performing various types of educational and physical activities.

+ Ability to maintain and handle live farm animals for educational and demonstration purposes.
