BUYER / PURCHASING SPECIALIST / PROCUREMENT & SOURCING SPECIALIST (Permanent) Our client, a global manufacturing organization with headquarters in WNY, is looking to add a Buyer to their growing team. This role reports directly to the Materials Manager. Responsibilities: Perform sourcing and procurement activities to ensure optimal inventory levels Manage contracts for each assigned supplier Conduct negotiations regarding cost, delivery improvements, and quality materials Process POs, coordinate material flow from suppliers, and expedite orders, as necessary, to align with production and shipping schedules Manage and assess supplier KPIs Regularly review reports on Price Purchase Variance (PPV) and develop/implement cost reduction programs Review inventory levels of materials across several locations to ensure optimal internal inventory is maintained at all times Identify and research different methods to effectively reduce lead times Communicate with vendors via email, phone, and in-p...
