Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Direct Buyer position involves being responsible for coordinating activities related to the procurement of direct materials, components, and equipment.
What a typical day looks like:
- Reviews requisitions and MRP output.
- Communicates with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as pricing, availability, and lead times.
- Determines method of procurement, such as direct purchasing.
- Places orders, reschedules, and cancels material based on requisitions and MRP results.
