Boiler Operator

Overview

The Boiler Operator is responsible for the safe operation and efficient running of the plant machinery under his/her control. The primary purpose of a boiler operator is to ensure that boilers run safely, efficiently, and reliably to provide heat, power, or steam for processes.

Role and Responsibilities

• Start up, operate, and shut down boilers and associated equipment
• Maintain correct steam pressure, temperature, and output
• Ensure continuous and efficient production of steam or hot water
• Adjust controls to keep operations within safe limits
• Record key parameters (pressure, temperature, water level)
• Follow strict safety procedures for high-pressure systems
• Prevent hazards such as overpressure, overheating, or leaks
• Respond quickly to alarms and emergency situations
