Job Description
Civil Service Title- Civil Engineer III
**NOTE: DEC 2, 2026 BEGINS THE ANTICIPATED FILING PERIOD FOR CIVIL ENGINEER PROMO EXAM NO. 7515 AND CIVIL ENGINEER OC EXAM NO. 7020. THOSE NOT SERVING PERMANENTLY ARE ENCOURAGED TO FILE**
The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges is responsible for managing the full life cycle of over 800 bridges and tunnels and over 600 retaining walls, ensuring safety of the public and ensuring mobility for all users. Team members may work on major project designs, oversee construction, oversee maintenance activities, perform engineering reviews and quality assurance tasks on some of the most iconic and complex projects in the City.
Candidate will report directly to the Supervisor of the unit. They will conduct field visits to identify deficient structural conditions, perform structural analysis, prepare design plans and determine scope of work. Create detailed sketches, and designs repair...
