Position Title: Behavior Intervention Specialist (school year position)

General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Principal and the School Coordinator, the Behavior Intervention Specialist supervises, manages and intervenes with students who are demonstrating unacceptable behavior within the school setting. Promotes a positive learning environment for all students. Maintains database and generates regular reports on behavioral interventions and outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follows prescribed behavioral intervention plans (BIP’s) for students.
2. Utilizes program’s behavioral management system and is ready to respond to and manage varying levels of maladaptive student behavior (mild, escalation, crisis stages).
