AWS Cloud RDS/Oracle DBA (Toronto)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Oracle DBA to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of mission‑critical Oracle databases, plus an AWS‑focused DBA to manage and optimize Amazon RDS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and Amazon Redshift clusters. The role emphasizes Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK.

Responsibilities

• Strong experience with Oracle 19c, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, OEM
• Expert‑level performance tuning (SQL & instance), AWR/ASH analysis, wait events
• Provision and manage RDS instances and clusters (instance classes, storage autoscaling, Multi‑AZ, parameter and subnet groups)
• Govern backup and restore (automated backups, snapshots), encryption (KMS), patching, and version upgrades
• Implement monitoring and alerting via CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Enhanced Monitoring; tune connections and queries
