Lead and provide strategic oversight of operations in the management of the Research Ethics team, whose core responsibility is to ensure that teaching and research protocols that use animals, human participants and bio-hazardous materials comply with relevant Legislative and Regulatory requirements and are approved through the University committees established for this purpose.
Provide authoritative, institution-wide strategic advice and set the policy direction and governance frameworks relating to research ethics and integrity. This includes the principles that guide research and ethical standards which set the framework of sound research practise in conducting research on Indigenous land, with Indigenous peoples or their cultural elements, the use of animals and human participants, and the use of bio-hazardous materials including genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
