Job Description

The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an opening for an Assistant Supervisor in the Grand Jury Stenographers Unit. Under direction, with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment, the Assistant Supervisor will work closely with the Chief of Stenographic Services to supervise the work of Reporters/Stenographers and Transcribers performing a variety of stenographic and verbatim reporting tasks. This vacancy is also available to present incumbents permanently serving in the civil service title of Reporter/Stenographer (10212).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist Chief of Stenographic Services in reviewing, assigning and ensuring adequate daily staffing and scheduling of all Reporters/Stenographers.
Coordinate with Assistant District Attorneys on transcript requests and/or if request is still relevant or necessary.
Assign and log CD and video transcription requests.
