Assistant Materials Manager

Key Responsibilities:Support the Materials Manager in all areas of the organization.Provide direct supervision for all shipping and receiving personnel in the plant and Warehouse.Provide direct supervision for all Traffic personnel in shipping.Provide support to Material Planners.Ensure direct receiving of materials by the established company and customer standards.Provide guidance, problem solving, and training for all direct reports.Ensure all received material is accurately labelled and tagged (i.e. bar coding inventory system).Direct the receiving functions, material movement, and personnel on a daily basis in the plant and in the warehouse.Monitor window times and measure attainment.Ensure orderly flow of materials to all assembly areas.Ensure scanning is utilized in shipping and receiving.Ensure proper tracking of customer returnable containers.Monitor, organize, and authorize freight activities by contracted carriers.Maintain and enhance daily trucking activies to maximize effic...
