The Government accepted the Tripartite Workgroup on Lower-Wage Workers’ recommendations to expand the Progressive Wage approach and coverage to uplift more local lower-wage workers. Since 2022, the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) has been progressively expanded to more sectors as well as certain occupations that cut across sectors. The Progressive Wage Team (PWT) was set up to support the operations and regulatory functions to ensure compliance with the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) and Local Qualifying Salaries (LQS).
