Assistant Accountant

Role Summary and Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Manager and assisting the wider finance team, this role offers exposure across the finance function of a growing US‑owned UK business that operates across UK and Irish Insurance Companies, Lloyd’s Syndicates, and a large UK regional branch network. The position is open to candidates who are currently studying for or are interested in an accounting qualification.

Location: hybrid between home working and the London office.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Preparation of journals and balance sheet reconciliations under both US GAAP and UK GAAP.
• Assist with month‑and‑quarter close processes.
• Prepare financial statements and support audit queries.
• Own the Irish entity branches co‑insurance financial process, reconciling fiduciary assets and liability ledgers and liaising with Underwriting Assistants.
