Animal Caretaker

Summary About the position: The purpose of this position is to perform the full range of duties as an animal caretaker located in the Misawa Pet Kennel, 35th Force Support Squadron, Misawa AB, Japan. This is a Flexible employment category position; guaranteed 0 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. Military Spouse Preference IS NOT lost if selected or declined for this position. Responsibilities Performs visual inspection, quarantine, identification and disinfection of animals and reports any unusual conditions that require veterinarian attention to supervisor for the control and eradication of communicable animal disease. Notifies the manager or supervisor immediately if an animal needs to be removed from the kennel because the animal becomes ill or endangers the health of other animals.
