Advisor Maritime Security

Role

The Advisor Maritime Security is a member of Maritime NZ’s Maritime Security team, supporting the delivery of NewZealand’s maritime security function. The role works closely with ports, shipping companies, government agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure the sector remains secure and compliant with the Maritime Security Act2004.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and guidance to NewZealand ports and ships on maritime security requirements.
• Support assurance activities to verify ongoing compliance with maritime security legislation.
• Assess security plans and support audits.
• Contribute to security risk management activities and keep abreast of emerging maritime security risks and trends.
• Develop and continuously improve maritime security policies, standards, guidance and operational processes.
• Build strong relationships across industry, government and international partners.
