A Brief Overview
The General Surgery and Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an APRN or PA who provides advanced patient care based on educational preparation and/or certification to a specific patient population following established standards and practices. Care extends across the continuum including clinic, hospital, operating room, and trauma bay. This position may include day and evening hours, holidays, and weekends. Call may also be required. The APP assumes the management of patients, functioning in both an independent and collaborative role with the surgeons and other members of the health care team.
