Our client is an independent publisher of books and magazines that is shifting from traditional retail to digital direct‑to‑consumer distribution. The small, collaborative team includes in‑house design and editorial functions and values clean, consistent typography and efficient workflows. They’re focused on modernizing production while maintaining high standards of quality.

This role exists to relieve a production bottleneck between editorial and design by owning the “glue” work of typesetting, template use, and copyedit/proof corrections. It enables faster, more reliable publishing by ensuring content is accurately imported, styled, and prepared for a senior designer’s refinement. The position also supports the company’s shift toward digital/direct‑to‑consumer by maintaining consistency across print and web touchpoints.
