Key role and responsibilities for Abrasive Blast Cleaners role
* Prepare surfaces for coating by removing rust, scale, old coatings and contaminants using abrasive blasting techniques.
* Operate abrasive blasting equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with site procedures.
* Select and use the correct abrasive media and blasting pressures for the specified surface preparation standard.
* Achieve required surface preparation standards (e.g. Sa 2, Sa 2½ and Sa 3) in line with project specifications.
* Safely use and maintain painting tools, equipment and access systems.
* Comply with all health, safety and environmental procedures, including the correct use of PPE and RPE
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring work areas remain clean, organised and free from hazards.
