Job Overview

The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for up to twenty auxiliary Labourers to join our team of professionals in the Public Works Division, Roads Operations Department. Reporting to the Roads Operations Manager, in this unionized position you will perform a variety of manual work requiring physical effort and agility in the operations of semi-skilled and unskilled construction/maintenance tasks. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks in roads operations, maintenance and construction 
  • Act as a pad-person for backhoes and a grade-person in construction of sidewalks, trenches, and roads operations 
  • Break blacktop and concrete surfaces using pneumatic hammer and compressor accessories
  • Operate motorized compacting machines for backfilling and grading work and perform more complex work as required
